Bennie Niles IV is a writer & photographer from Clearwater, Florida. 

He holds an A.B. with Honors from Dartmouth College, where he studied as a Senior Fellow, and a M.A. from Northwestern University. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in African American Studies. His dissertation focuses on the mistreatment of black female athletes.

Bennie's essay "In Dialogue: On Sports, Sports Activism, Sexual Freedom, and Other Types of Liberation," which he cowrote with Darnell L. Moore, is published in the book Football, Culture and Power. His travel photography has been featured by OkayAfrica and Hostelworld.

He is the founder of Just Tryna' Graduate, a blog and online community dedicated to helping Black students get to & through grad school.
